WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK SPRING-SUMMER 2015

One of the most talked about Fashion event Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring -Summer 2015 was held from October 8th to 12th October, 2014. Around 124 designers participated in the five day fashion extravaganza which was organized by FDCI at the heart of the capital- Pragati Maidan.

Following are some of our favorites from the Fashion Week:

Floral Delights!

Aneeth Arora opened the fashion week with her collection Pero-love on foliage. Her show was a visual delight. She recreated a beautiful spring garden in full bloom.

The  models walked around casually in beautifully hand embroidered maxi and short dresses, jackects, knee length dresses, skirts paired with cropped tops, capris, denims with floral patch work, plain shirts complemented by check print shorts. Floral headgears and bright colored Nike sports shoes complemented the summer look.

Designer Samant Chauhan presented his spectacular Rajputana collection. He enthralled the audience with elegant white outfits and innovative floral designs.

Sneha Arora presented a range of spring wardrobe with a variety of floral patterns- flowers with stems, flower sticks in bottles, bulbs, leaves, petals on the outfits made from silk, cotton, linen and organza fabrics created an atmosphere of spring garden.

Riot of Colors!

Tarun Tahiliani showcased fascinating ensemble inspired by the paintings of twin sisters Rabindra & Amrit Singh from London.

The amazing show was organised at an offsite venue, DLF Emporio.

The ramp became alive with vibrant hues of orange, red, yellow, blue and green.

Models strutted down the ramp in saris draped in different styles, lehengas, Kurtis, harem pants paired with beaded accessories, round rimmed sunglasses and turbans. His men’s wear included kurtas, shirts, jodhpurs, bandhgala jackets etc.

Embrace the Lace!

Ritu Pande brought the Victorian era alive with classic Italian & French lace designs, patchwork, embroidery and layering. Ace Tennis player Sania Mirza made a stunning presence as a show stopper wearing an elegant gold & white dress.

Welcome to the Paradise!

Firdaus (paradise) by Designer Payal Singhal was an enchanting monochromatic range of churidaar, skirt & crop top sets, embroidered jacket & cigarette pant set, shirt dresses, kaftans, lehenga sari and  Kurtis with pine cone motifs & embroidered yoke, shararas  in silk, tulle and organza fabrics. Her entire collection was dedicated to Gulmarg Valley, Kashmir known as a paradise on earth.

Stay Calm Do Yoga!

Ministry of textiles presented Wendell Rodricks’ Yoga Calm collection inspired by health benefits of Indian Yoga. As per the theme the show started with the “Surya Namaskar’ and briefly introduced the people with some other yoga aasans.

After that Models presented the ultimate collection made from the cotton, khadi, linen to bring the Indian weavers to the spotlight. The highlight of the show was pristine white color-known for its soothing and calming effect.

Ultimate Classic!

Rabani and Rakha presented their mesmerizing exquisite collection with detailed work.

Grand Finale!

Spectacular Grand finale by Rohit Bal at the beautifully decorated Quli Khan’s tomb was out of the world!  With Qutub Minar as a backdrop, models showcased the regal Gulbagh (inspired by the Mughal Gardens of Kashmir) collection and transported the audiences to the world of romance and fantasy.

Embroidery with silk threads, block printing, gold leaf printing on velvet, matka silk, and mulmul looked amazing.  In addition to that Arjun Rampal walked the ramp as a show stopper and well known French footwear Designer Christian Louboutin attended the show as a special invitee. The incredible show got concluded with a standing ovation from the audiences.
